San Agustin...

San Agustin is a great backpacker destination with all of the infrastructure necessary to see and do everything you like with relative ease. The archeological park is just outside of town and contains hundreds of carved stone statues in excellent condition left by pre-colombian tribes. Horse-back tours and jeep excursions can be arranged through most hostels and agencies in town and take in some of the areas spectacular scenery, some more archeological sites and natural beauty spots.
